March Paying Off Debt Report

As a new part of the blog, I want to add quick reports on what kind of progress I’m making on my own journey to getting out of debt as well as how the book, Just Live Simple, has been doing. I have no qualms about being totally honest. Getting out of debt is the key to being able to do more of what I want in life and it’s always a huge focus for me.

I currently have a full-time job and have been working to pay off as much of my student loans every month as I can. I’ve also considered second jobs, but haven’t found one that works for me quite yet.

As far as writing Just Live Simple goes, it’s a passion of mine and I will continue to do it for a long time no matter what, but I’ve always dreamed of living independently and creating for a living. Seems like there are a lot of people out there who have the same kind of dreams and are wondering how it really works. Well, I’ll tell you what I’ve learned.

Here’s what this month looked like…

February Student Loan Balance: $21,836

March Student Loan Balance: $20,907.

Almost under 20k! Not too bad considering I had $56,000 in loans a year and a half ago.

February book sales: 3 total book sales = $6.21

So no NYT bestseller just yet, but the book sales bought me a couple of seed packets for the garden. Could definitely improve though, right?

The site has pretty good traffic and the facebook page and email list have been slowly but steadily growing over the past few months, although it’s still a pretty small (and awesome) section of the web.

I haven’t been very good about posting content regularly even though I’m always writing down ideas for posts. So I’ll be working to post more on a regular schedule, going for once a week or more.

Check back in April for the next report!
